Safety at the Dachstein
Due to the high altitude, the weather at the Dachstein can change within a matter of minutes. There can be significant differences in temperature, as well as variations in wind and visibility, between Ramsau am Dachstein in the valley and the Dachstein mountain station. Therefore, be sure to check the current conditions before your visit. We recommend wearing warm, layered clothing, a windproof and waterproof jacket, a hat, gloves, sunglasses, and sturdy, non-slip hiking or mountaineering boots.
