The Dachstein Glacier Restaurant
Located right inside the Dachstein mountain station is the modern Dachstein Glacier Restaurant, which offers seating for about 220 guests indoors and a spacious, wind-protected terrace with an additional 120 seats.
Natural materials such as wood, stone, and loden create a cozy atmosphere, while the 280-degree panoramic view makes the surrounding mountains a constant companion. The state border between Styria and Upper Austria runs right through the middle of the restaurant—an extraordinary detail that makes your visit even more special .
Culinary highlights include avaried selection of regional specialties, Austrian classics, seasonal dishes, snacks, and homemade pastries. The Dachstein Glacier Restaurant is also part of Kulinarium Steiermark and thus stands for regional quality, high-quality ingredients, and collaboration with local producers.

From May through August, a very special experience awaits you every Sunday: the sunrise breakfast on the Dachstein.
Even before sunrise, the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car takes you up to the glacier. At the Dachstein Glacier Restaurant , you can enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet featuring regional delicacies while the first rays of sunlight bathe the surrounding peaks in warm light.
After breakfast, you’ll have plenty of time to visit the attractions on the Dachstein —including the suspension bridge, the Stairway to Nowhere, the Sky Walk, the Ice Palace, and the Dachstein Sky Ladder.

Sunset Cruises with Fondue

The sunset tours take place in September and October and combine a spectacular sunset over the Dachstein with a cozy sunset fondue at the Dachstein Glacier Restaurant.
When the mountains are bathed in warm evening light in the fall, one of the most atmospheric experiences on the Dachstein begins.
After taking the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car up the mountain, you’ll have plenty of time to visit the attractions and take a walk on the glacier. Afterward, enjoy the sunset on the restaurant’s terrace before a fondue with a salad buffet and live music rounds out the evening.
