On December 19, 2026, the Dachstein will open its doors for an unforgettable Advent evening, even before the official start of the winter season.
As the day draws to a close and twilight falls over the Dachstein, an evening filled with tranquility, contemplation, and pre-Christmas magic begins. At 2,700 meters above sea level —far from the hustle and bustle of large markets—you’ll experience an exclusive, atmospheric Advent evening in an intimate, charming setting.
The glacier cable car takes you to the mountain station at 4:00 p.m., where a warming welcome punch awaits you on the panoramic terrace —accompanied by a spectacular view of the snow-covered mountains. Afterward, you’ll enjoy a lovingly prepared three-course meal at the Glacier Restaurant —a culinary prelude to an evening of tranquility and indulgence.
Highlight of the evening: Reading of “Übern Stoa a Stern”
Author and storyteller Peter Gruber, along with musician and composer Josef Schnedl, will take you on a special literary and musical journey.
Gruber and Schnedl’s poetic performance is accompanied musically by Hans-Peter Knaus and Burkhard Höfer, blending stories, music, and a wintry atmosphere into a moving Advent experience on the Dachstein.
Note: The reading will be held in German.
